ราชวงศ์

Thai

Etymology

From ราช (râat, royal) + วงศ์ (wong, clan; family; lineage; race); ultimately from Sanskrit राजवंश (rājavaṃśa, dynasty), from राज (rāja, king) + वंश (vaṃśa, clan; family; lineage; race), probably via Old Khmer rājavaṅa (royal family). Compare Modern Khmer រាជវង្ស (réachvngôs); Pali rājavaṃsa.
