จารึก

From Old Khmer *cārika (“to inscribe by engraving”), an extended form of cār (“to inscribe (with a stylus), to engrave; to draw a straight line; to plant in rows”), from which Thai จาร (jaan) was derived. Cognate with Modern Khmer ចារឹក (caarɨk), Lao ຈາຣຶກ (chā rưk).
