Etymology
From Old Marathi 𑘭𑘱𑘽𑘐 (siṁga), from Maharastri Prakrit 𑀲𑀺𑀁𑀕 (siṃga), from Sanskrit शृङ्ग (śṛṅga), ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *ḱer- (“horn”). Cognate with Hindi सींग (sīṅg).
