Etymology
From Old Marathi विसरणे (visaraṇe), from Maharastri Prakrit 𑀯𑀺𑀲𑁆𑀲𑀭𑀇 (vissaraï), from Sanskrit विस्मरति (vismarati, “to forget”), from वि- (vi-, “anti-”) + स्मृ (smṛ, “to remember”). Compare Konkani विसोर्चे, Hindi बिसरना (bisarnā), Gujarati વિસરવું (visarvũ), Bengali বিসরা (bisra).
