Etymology
From Proto-Indo-European *lendʰ- (“to cook food”). Cognate with Old Armenian աղանձեմ (ałanjem, “to roast”), Ancient Greek λάσανα (lásana, “stand of a pot”), Old Prussian landan (“food”), Irish lann (“frying pan”), Old Welsh lann (“frying pan”).
