From Old Turkic 𐰇𐰕𐰀 (üze, above, over), from Proto-Turkic *hüŕ, *hüz-, *ȫŕ, *ǖŕ (move up, on top, high above, upper part, surface). Related to üst, yüz, yüzmek. Possibly related through Altaic to Japanese (ura, tip, top end) and Mongolian өргөх (örgöh, to lift, to raise).
