Etymology
From Old Turkic 𐰇𐰕𐰀 (üze, “above, over”), from Proto-Turkic *hüŕ, *hüz-, *ȫŕ, *ǖŕ (“move up, on top, high above, upper part, surface”). Related to üst, yüz, yüzmek. Possibly related through Altaic to Japanese 末 (ura, “tip, top end”) and Mongolian өргөх (örgöh, “to lift, to raise”).
