yellow atrophy (usually uncountable, plural yellow atrophies)

  1. A fatal condition of the liver in which it undergoes fatty degeneration and becomes rapidly smaller and of a deep yellow tinge. The marked symptoms are black vomit, delirium, convulsions, coma, and jaundice.
