wrist shot (plural wrist shots)

  1. (ice hockey) A shot that involves using the arm muscles, predominantly the wrist, to propel the puck using the concave side of the blade.

  2. (golf) A short stroke usually played with an iron, from the wrist, without swinging the club over the shoulder.
