vaskos

Hungarian

Etymology

Of uncertain origin. First attested in 1746. Perhaps it is derived from the noun vas (iron), but the method of derivation is irregular. For a similar derivation, compare nehézkes (cumbersome). The formation of the different senses may have been also influenced by the adjective vastag (thick).[1]
