- turbur, turburu
Etymology
From a Vulgar Latin root *turbulus, itself related to *turbulō, from Latin turbō or from turbula, diminutive of turba (“disorderly crowd”). Alternatively *turbulus derives from an alteration of turbidus, from the related turba, perhaps influenced by turbulentus (“stormy, turbulent”). Compare Romanian tulbure.
