Etymology

From Proto-Albanian *tsikā, from Proto-Indo-European *ḱẽi 'to sharpen'. Compare Armenian սուր (sur, sharp; knife)[1]. Compare Illyrian sika. Thought to be the source of Latin sica (dagger). Also compare German Degen, Old Armenian դակու (daku, adze, axe).
