Gheg variant of Old Tosk (Budi) çpih, from Proto-Albanian *dis- and *pīska, from Proto-Indo-European *pih₁-sḱe/o-, from *peh₁-i- (to taunt) (compare Old English fēon (to hate), Sanskrit पीयति (pī́yati, to blame, abuse)).[1]
