riffa
Italian
Etymology 1
Unknown, perhaps also from Spanish rifa (“lottery; strife”), in its alternate sense of strife. Various Germanic derivations from Proto-Germanic *ruppōną (“rip, tear”) have been suggested, but this is unlikely.
