From Proto-Albanian *ambi-witja, from Proto-Indo-European *with₂-.[1] Compare Sanskrit व्यथते (vyáthate, “to sway, to tremble”), Avestan 𐬀𐬌𐬡𐬌𐬚𐬏𐬭𐬀 (aiβiθūra, “strong, unwavering”), and Icelandic viða (“to waver, swing”).
