Albanian

Etymology 1

According to an article on page 248 of the Slavonic and East European review, volume 20, published by the School of Slavonic and East European Studies of the University of London in 1941, the Albanian word kuti is related to the Turkish kutu ("box"), Serbo-Croatian kùtija ("box"), Bulgarian kutíja, Greek κουτί ("box"), and Romanian cutie ("box"). The Albanian word may derive, like the Turkish kutu and Serbo-Croatian kùtija, from the Greek κουτί.
