civic centre (plural civic centres)

  1. (Britain) a building or building complex within a town, borough or city which houses municipal offices. Civic centres have generally replaced town halls in this role, though old town halls are often still in use.
  2. A convention centre, auditorium or arena, generally located near the center of town.
