Etymology

From Proto-Albanian *abula, from Proto-Indo-European *nebʰ-el (compare Latin nebula (mist, cloud), Old English nifol (mist, darkness), Ancient Greek νεφέλη (nephélē)), from *nébʰes (cloud). Compare also Romanian abur. Alternatively from Proto-Indo-European *ogʷolmo (cf. German Qualm (fumes))[1].
