arbor vitae (plural arbor vitae or arbor vitaes or arbores vitae)

  1. Any of the evergreen trees and shrubs known as arborvitae, of the genera Thuja and Thujopsis, or of the species Platycladus orientalis.
    • 1882, Annual Report of the Minnesota State Horticultural Society, page 27:
