  • When used as an adverb, Min Nan an-ne corresponds to Mandarin zhème (in this way), but more in the sense of Mandarin rúcǐ (like this). As such, Min Nan an-ne can be placed at the end of a phrase, as can Mandarin rúcǐ, whereas Mandarin zhème must be followed by an adjective or verb.
