Finnish

Etymology

< archaic word *huomenhaamu ("morning twilight, morning mist") < huomen (morning) + haamu (twilight, mist, ghost); huomen has come to mean "tomorrow" (in other Finnic languages cognates of "huomen" still mean "morning") and haamu has dropped the "h" and has come to mean "morning".
