Etymology

Unknown. A mountain with the same name exists in Berat, Albania and other places share a very similar name, namely Tomorrica in Skrapar, Τόμαρος (Tómaros) and Illyrian *Temus, this from Proto-Indo-European *dʰh₁s-o-. All of this suggests a common Illyrian origin. Alternatively might be related to marr (obtain, get), thus meaning "Obtainer".
