Regiolekt m (genitive Regiolekts or Regiolektes, plural Regiolekte)

  1. the supra-dialectal vernacular of a larger region (often a blend of dialect and standard language)

    The original dialects are increasingly replaced with regiolects.
  2. (less often) any regional dialect

Usage notes

The word is different from English regiolect, which seems to be used only in sense 2.
