Usage notes

Some authors have recently extracted three species from Portunus pelagicus, sensu lato: Portunus segnis, Portunus reticulatus, and Portunus armatus. They are more southerly in habitat than the southeast and east Asian Portunus pelagicus, sensu stricto.
