Etymology

Form of Ancient Greek μῑσέω (mīséō, to hate) or μῖσος (mîsos, hatred).

A misiac is a person that hates something, with what they hate serving as the prefix, i.e arachnomisiac. It should not be confused with words with the suffix -phobia, as one describes disgust or hatred, while the other describes irrational aversion or fear.
