Etymology

From Proto-Finnic *-hen, itself possibly a variant of *-sen. The preceding vowel began to assimilate the vowel in the suffix.

-han, -hen, -hin, -hon, -hun, -hyn, -hän, -hön (depending on the preceding vowel)

  1. Forms the illative singular case.

Usage notes

Used after a monosyllabic long vowel. Variant of -Vn.
