Usage notes

  • (possessive suffix) Variants:
    -itok is added to back vowel words ending in a vowel except -i. Final -a changes to -á-.
    -itek is added to front vowel words ending in a vowel except -i. Final -e changes to -é-.
    -aitok is added to some back vowel words ending in a consonant
    -eitek is added to some front vowel words ending in a consonant
    -jaitok is added to some back vowel words ending in a consonant or the vowel -i
    -jeitek is added to some front vowel words ending in a consonant or the vowel -i
