Etymology
Compare Classical Persian سپیدار (sapēdar, “white poplar”) and Middle Persian [Book Pahlavi needed] (spyt'-dʾl /spēd-dār/, “white poplar, aspen”). Equivalent to سپی (spî, “white”) + دار (dar, “tree”).
