Tower of Power

Tower of Power is een Amerikaanse soul-, funk- en rhythm-and-bluesgroep. In 1968 werd deze band gevormd door Emilio Castillo en Stephen Kupka. Ze beleefden hun grootste successen in het begin van de jaren zeventig. Bekende nummers zijn What Is Hip?, There's Only So Much Oil in the Ground, Soul Vaccination en Soul With a Capital S. De blazerssectie van Tower of Power verzorgde tevens veel studiowerk voor andere artiesten.[1] Rick Stevens, tot 1975 de leadzanger, overleed in september 2017 op 77-jarige leeftijd aan kanker.
