Rotherham United FC is een Engelse voetbalclub, opgericht in 1925 en uitkomend in de Football League One. De club speelt zijn thuiswedstrijden in het New York Stadium.

Rotherham FC werd in 1870 opgericht en veranderde later zijn naam in Rotherham Town. Thornhill werd in 1897 opgericht, in 1919 werd de club toegelaten tot de Football League en noemde zich dan Rotherham County. In 1925 fuseerde de 2 clubs om zo Rotherham United te vormen. De club speelde sinds het seizoen 2001/02 in de Football League Championship, het hoogste niveau waar de club heeft gespeeld, maar degradeerde in seizoen 2004/05. Na seizoen 2006/07 zakte de club nog verder weg naar de League Two. In het seizoen 2012/13 promoveerden ze naar de Football League One en een jaar later promoveerden ze nog een keer, ditmaal naar de Football League Championship.

In 1961 speelde Rotherham in de eerste League Cup-finale, maar de club verloor in de eindstrijd van Aston Villa FC.
