Guichelaar doet sinds ongeveer haar achtste aan waterpolo. Haar debuut in het Nederlandse waterpoloteam maakte ze in mei 2001. In 2008 maakte ze haar olympisch debuut op de Olympische Spelen van Peking, waar Nederland de titel haalde. Ze speelt linkshandig en is lid van Het Ravijn uit Nijverdal. In het seizoen 2009-2010 besluit ze voorlopig te stoppen met waterpolo (zowel bij het nationale team als bij Het Ravijn) wegens motivatieproblemen. Ze is inmiddels herstart met waterpolo en speelt nu bij EZC in Enschede.
