Maurice Ewing
William Maurice Ewing (Lockney, 12 mei 1906 – Galveston, 4 mei 1974) was een Amerikaans geofysicus en ontdekte dat de oceaanbodem bestaat uit zeer jong vulkanisch gesteente.[1]
