John Norum

John Norum (Vardø, 23 februari 1965) is een Zweedse gitarist.

Levensloop

Norum werd geboren in Noorwegen, maar op jonge leeftijd verhuisde Norum samen met zijn moeder en zus naar Zweden. Daar begon hij op zijn tiende akoestische gitaar te spelen waarna hij twee jaar later in zijn eerste band speelde. Rond zijn veertiende ontmoette hij Joey Tempest met wie hij samen in 1979 de band Europe stichtte. Hij nam drie albums met Europe op, maar verliet de band in oktober 1986 wegens muzikale verschillen. Nadien begon hij een solocarrière en werkte samen met Dokken, Don Dokken en Glenn Hughes. In 2003 nam hij deel aan de reünie van Europe en sindsdien toert hij met zijn collega's rond de wereld. Bovendien neemt hij weer albums met ze op.
