Biografie

Arend werd geboren in het New Yorkse stadsdeel Manhattan. Zijn moeder is Pakistaans en zijn vader is van Duitse, Schotse en Ierse afkomst. Hij heeft zijn high school doorlopen aan de Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in New York waar hij in 1996 zijn diploma haalde.

Arend is sinds 11 oktober 2009 getrouwd met Christina Hendricks.
