Verspreiding en leefgebied
Deze soort komt voor in Australië, Christmaseiland, Indonesië, Nieuw-Caledonië, Nieuw-Zeeland, Norfolk en Papoea-Nieuw-Guinea.
De soort telt 2 ondersoorten:
- F. c. baru: het Maokegebergte in het westelijke deel van Centraal-Nieuw-Guinea.
- F. c. cenchroides: Australië, Tasmania, Lord Howe-eiland en Norfolk.
