Deze bank is in 1999 onderdeel geworden van de Europese Centrale Bank en behoort tot het Europees Stelsel van Centrale Banken. [1] Sinds haar oprichting in 1818 geeft de Danmarks Nationalbank als onafhankelijke instelling de Deense kroon uit en zorgt voor de stabiliteit ervan. Denemarken behoort tot het non-eurosysteem van de ESCB. Deense bankbiljetten worden gedrukt op Danmarks Nationalbank's Banknote Printing Works. [2]
