Camp Bastion

Camp Bastion is de belangrijkste Britse militaire basis in Afghanistan. Het is de grootste Britse overzeese basis sinds de Tweede Wereldoorlog.[1]

Camp Bastion ligt ten noordwesten van Lashkar Gah, de hoofdstad van de provincie Helmand. De basis werd begin 2006 gebouwd in een afgelegen woestijngebied, ver van bevolkt gebied. Het heeft een landingsbaan, een veldhospitaal en accommodatie voor 2000 man.[2]
