Interlandcarrière

Sæternes maakte zijn debuut voor het Noors voetbalelftal op 23 mei 2002 in de vriendschappelijke wedstrijd tegen IJsland (1-1). Hij viel in dat duel na tachtig minuten in voor Martin Andresen.
