Basketbal is een van de olympische sporten die beoefend worden tijdens de Olympische Jeugdzomerspelen 2010 in Singapore. De wedstrijden zullen worden gespeeld van 15 tot en met 23 augustus in het *scape. Er wordt gespeeld met twintig landen, die verdeeld worden in vier groepen van vijf. De top twee plaatst zich voor de kwartfinales. Dit toernooi wordt gespeeld volgens andere spelregels dan het gewone basketbal; de FIBA 33-regels.

FIBA 33-regels

Er wordt gespeeld op een veld half zo groot als een normaal basketbalveld
Elk team bestaat uit drie spelers, aangevuld met één wisselspeler
Een wedstrijd duurt twee maal vijf minuten, tenzij één ploeg 33 punten scoort; dan is het spel ten eind
Er moet binnen de tien seconden een schot op doel zijn
