Afrocelestis inanis is een vlinder uit de familie echte motten (Tineidae). De wetenschappelijke naam van deze soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1968 door László Anthony Gozmány.[1]

De soort komt voor in het Afrotropisch gebied.
