De eerste editie van de jaarlijkse Grammy Awards, waarbij prijzen werden uitgereikt in verschillende categorieën voor de beste Amerikaanse muzikanten, vond plaats op 3 mei 1959 in het Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, Californië.
