Words on Bathroom Walls is an upcoming American drama film, directed by Thor Freudenthal, from a screenplay by Nick Naveda, based upon the novel of the same name by Julia Walton. It stars Charlie Plummer, Taylor Russell, Andy García, AnnaSophia Robb, Beth Grant, Devon Bostick, Lobo Sebastian, Molly Parker and Walton Goggins.

Plot

After getting expelled at his previous high school Adam, diagnosed with a mental illness, he strikes up a friendship with Maya, who inspires him not to be defined by his condition.

Production

In February 2018, Thor Freudenthal was announced to direct the film, from a screenplay by Nick Navaeda, based upon the novel of the same name by Julia Walton, with LD Entertainment producing.[1] In March 2018, Charlie Plummer and Taylor Russell joined the cast of the film.[2][3] In April 2018, Andy García, Molly Parker, Walton Goggins, AnnaSophia Robb and Devon Bostick joined the cast of the film.[4][5] The Chainsmokers and Andrew Hollander composed the film's score.[6]

Principal photography began in May 2018.[7]

Release

In June 2020, Roadside Attractions acquired distribution rights to the film and set it for an August 7, 2020, release.[8]
