Woman in a Red Armchair

Woman in a Red Armchair is a painting by artist Pablo Picasso. It was painted in 1929 and is currently owned by the Houston art gallery, The Menil Collection.

Vandalism

On June 13, 2012, the painting was vandalized while on display at the Menil gallery by a 22-year-old man named Uriel Landeros, who would later get his own art show for vandalizing the painting which he spray painted a bull and wrote “Conquista” with black spray paint. Landeros was sentenced to two years in prison.[1][2]
