History
Wakiso Giants were founded in 2018. While new clubs typically start in the fifth division, Wakiso Giants debuted in the second division after the club owners bought the license to Kamuli Park, who were in financial difficulties.[1] Ibrahim Kirya, who coached the 2018–19 season, was the club's first manager.[2]
Wakiso Giants won their group in their very first season, clinching promotion after defeating Entebbe FC 2–1 with Ivan Kiwewa scoring the winning goal.[1]
Ground
Giants play their home matches at Wakisha Stadium, but due to stadium quality and a disagreement with the Ugandan football licensing authorities, the Purple Sharks played their home games for the 2018–19 season at Kyabazinga Stadium, Bugembe.[3][1]
