History

W235BW signed on the air on January 1, 2014 as a translator of WQZQ, which at the time was converted into an “overflow” radio station for programming on WPRT-FM/Pegram at 102.5 megahertz. WQZQ became the overflow for WPRT in February 2013 when it became the NBC Sports Radio affiliate for the Nashville market. Then, in September 2014, the station switched to ESPN Radio to match the affiliation of WPRT during times where local or syndicated programming is not aired.

W235BW did not become a separate radio station until March 25, 2016, when WQZQ began a transition to become a Classic hits station. W235BW continued the 94.9 Game 2 format and becoming available on HD digital radio via WBUZ-HD3. [2] W227DC replaced W235BW as the FM repeater for WQZQ on March 25, 2016.
