Vega flight VV03

Vega flight VV03 is the third flight of the Vega launcher. It occurred from the Guiana Space Centre on 30 April 2014 at 01:35:15 UTC.[1][2]

Payload

The flight was a single-payload mission that deployed the KazEOSat-1 Earth observation satellite into orbit, with a total payload mass of about 918 kilograms (2,024 lb), including the satellite and its adapter.[3][4]

KazEOSat-1

KazEOSat-1 (also designated DZZ-HR), had a lift-off mass of approximately 830 kilograms (1,830 lb), and was the only satellite on board the flight.[4][3]

Mission description

Launch date

The launch was initially foreseen the day before (29 April 2014, also at 01:35:15 UTC), but was postponed due to an improper behaviour of the payload venting umbilical. The 3rd successful Vega flight finally took place on 30 April 2014 at 01:35:15 UTC (29 April 2014 at 10:35:15 local time) from the ELV launch pad in Kourou, French Guiana. It was the 4th Arianespace launch of 2014.[5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19]

Orbit

The mission was planned to last 55 minutes and 27 seconds from lift-off until separation, placing its payload into a quasi-circular sun-synchronous target orbit with an altitude of about 750 kilometres (470 mi), at an inclination of 98.54°.[4][3]
