Valdice

Valdice (before 1950 Kartouzy-Valdice) is a village and municipality in Jičín District in the Hradec Králové Region of the Czech Republic. A former Carthusian monastery is located here; it is now used as a prison. There is also an Palace of Culture. In the Palace of Culture is located a cinema. However, the cinema is unused. In Valdice there is a library, kindergarten, post office and primary school.
