Turbonomic

Turbonomic (previously VMTurbo) is a U.S.-based enterprise software company.[3] The company changed name to Turbonomic in August 2017.[4] The company headquarters are in Boston.[5] The company's product was launched in 2010 and updated in 2017 for use with cloud computing platforms.[6] The product simulates supply and demand forces in order to efficiently allocate resources such as computing, database, memory and storage.[7] Turbonomic holds 12 patents related to its supply and demand abstraction.[8] In 2011 Gartner named Turbonomic as a 'Cool Vendor, Cloud Management' category.[9] In 2016, Turbonomic was listed as the top product for Virtualisation Management in a report by IDG and IT Central Station.[10] In 2018, Forrester ranked Turbonomic as a leader in cloud cost monitoring and optimization.[11]

Since its founding in 2009,[12] Turbonomic had raised more than $150M from venture capital firms including Bain Capital Ventures and Highland Capital Partners.[13]

In January 2017, Turbonomic announced that it closed a $50 million financing round led by former GE Chief Information Officer Gary Reiner.[14]
