Umberleigh railway station

Umberleigh railway station serves the village of Umberleigh in Devon, England. It is on the Tarka Line 32.25 miles (52 km) north west of Exeter St Davids station on the way to Barnstaple.

History

The station was opened by the North Devon Railway on 1 August 1854.[1]

Services

All trains on the Barnstaple to St James Park service stop at Umberleigh, giving it an hourly service each way on weekdays and two-hourly in each direction on Sundays.[2] Trains connect with main line services at Exeter St Davids.

Community railway

The railway between Exeter and Barnstaple is designated as a community railway and is supported by marketing provided by the Devon and Cornwall Rail Partnership. The line is promoted under the "Tarka Line" name.

The "Rising Sun" pub at Umberleigh is included in the Tarka Line rail ale trail.
