Sree Ujjini Maralusiddeswara Temple

The Sree Ujjini Maralusiddeswara Temple is located here. There is a proverb used in this part of the world called "Ujjini Olage nodu, Hampi Horage Nodu" ("It's wonderful to watch the Sculptures inside the temple of Ujjini and the same could be seen in around the Hampi Temple"). There is a unique festivity celebrated in Ujjini called "Shikara Thailabhisheka" This occurs every year in April or May. There is a tradition to first offer the oil from germali family to the Shikara(Tower). Shikara is believed to have all existing gods and goddesses in the world.

Once in a year the shikara thailabhisheka is offered by many pilgrims from different parts of the country. The Cart festival is celebrated before a day of this Thailabhisheka. The CART starts from Paadagatte [a mantap built for a foot step of sri marula siddeshwara swamy) and goes till bannimara and return to the main road of Ujjini and parked in front of panchayath office for a few days. Every year thousands of devotees will witness this Cart festival and take the blessings of Sri Sri Sri Marulasidda rajadeshi kendra shivacharya mahaswamigalu.

This is one of the panchapeetha among kashi, kedar, srishaila and baalehonnur. Ujjini has good bus connectivity between Hospet, Chitradurga, Davanagere and Bellary. You will get frequent buses from Bangalore as well.

Sri Kottureshwara temple in kottur is 14 km from Ujjini.
