Uclés
Uclés is a municipality located in the province of Cuenca, Castile-La Mancha, Spain. According to the 2004 census (INE), the municipality has a population of 287 inhabitants.

History
Inhabited since pre-Roman times, Uclés was very important during the Moorish period, as a part of the territorial division known as cora de Santaver which was one of the most important cities in that time period. It became the site of a cathedral, a mosque and baths. Its true importance was gained during the Reconquista (or Reconquest) when it became the seat of the Order of Santiago. The village gives its name to the area's wine region of Uclés DOP.[2]
